The general premise of the game is to be handed cards totaling up to 21. Each gambler is given two cards. When a gambler is given a 9 or less and an Ace they’ve been handed a soft hand. When the player receives no Ace cards it is known as a hard hand. Once the cards have been given to every player at the table, which includes the dealer, every blackjack player is provided the chance to make one of six decisions:
Taking another card (Hit): When a black jack player says "hit me" the dealer will deal them another card, if the addition of that card makes the value of the hand to exceed twenty one the black jack player will have busted and be excluded from the game, if the card pushes the value of the hand to twenty one the gambler is the winner and if the value of the hand hasn’t yet achieved twenty-one they are still in the game.
Keeping the hand you’ve been given: If a black jack player is satisfied with the hand they will stand. As soon as this has happened the croupier will display their cards and the black jack player who has accumulated 21 or the nearest to twenty-one will win.
Doubling Down: A player may ask to double down which increases the bet by one hundred percent they have laid. As soon as you have taken this action you can only be given one additional card. The specifics of doubling down are often specified by the table or casino rules so before competing be sure you are comfortable with the house game rules. If you are playing at a net casino this is normally very simple.
Watch for part two.
